of our voices

Great poem, E, very heartfelt, and I know the feeling. After many years of not being that to each other, there was a period of hope that I might have that with my wife.

But I'd blown those chances early on and, when they came around again, as hard as we both tried, it was too late.

If I, we, any of us, have another life somewhere out ahead of us, this is one of the things that I most hope to do better at: the concern and caring for the heart of another...
